Last fall, Bobby and I took a walk in the woods and I gave him a 60 second “here is how you use the camera” tutorial.
He’s been fascinated ever since, and at the end of May I handed him one of my cameras at Katherine & Sami’s wedding and told him to have fun.
He loved it.
I am really excited to share this selection of photos of his from the last month or so.

these are awesome. he’s picked up so quickly, and it feels like the exact same situation with jen recently. she plays with my camera more than i do. ha! loved this post, emily. very nice :)
Certainly has an eye for it! You’ve taught him well
Wow, some great photos from this wedding. The one of the gentleman playing the violin is really beautiful and all of the photos have a good ‘feel.’ (If you know what I mean!)
Go Bobby! I love the one of my cousin Thomas doing the worm! I’m so glad he got that shot!!! Also, I’d like one of those 60-second tutorials!
I’d think he might be on the right track. The fast track to greatness…
Hooray for an awesome free second shooter! Great shots!
Wow, Bobbys’ got skills!
sounds like you’ve got a great backup plan as a photography teacher, emily :)
Way to go Bobby! You’re definitely a natural… love your eye!
Gorgeous images! I really love your processing.
That chicken is really cute. The two kids being photographed by the window is possibly my favorite. Of course the two pics of you, Em, are just fab.
Nice, you have a very talented almost husband, Emily!
Our situation was the same, except reverse!
I see a very bright future for the two of you. :-)))
And Emily.. could you be any more adorable?!?!
Wow, imagine if you’d given him TWO minutes of lessons. Clearly a natural.
You’ve unleashed a new talent on the wedding photography world Emily :~)
Emily, make sure you pay him well…he deserves lots of kisses for these shots!!!
I love couples that can work together. He’s definitely a natural and I look forward to seeing more of his work in the future! =)
