Sommer + Barrett | Morgantown WV

Sometimes I go to make a wedding blog post after working on putting the photos together all day, and the words pour out of me. Words tend to pour out of me, so this isn’t much of a stretch. I take blogging seriously (despite the fact that the word ‘blogging’ has a silly sort of ring to it). I love words, so it’s important to me to use the best ones along with the photos I show.

But sometimes the words don’t pour out of me. Sometimes all I can say is that the wedding below was  just beautiful – truly, truly beautiful – and full of genuine people. Happy people.

Sommer is a talented artist, Barrett is a beer brewer, and they both love cats.

Some brides are gushy, “talk-a-mile-a-minute for hours” kinds of brides; Sommer’s more of a quiet, “driving around at night listening to OK Computer” kinda bride. And she has some of the best bangs you’ll ever see.

This is definitely one of my very favorite weddings so far from this year.

Aimee + Bob

The first time I met Aimee and Bob was sometime in the spring of 2009 at a Starbucks in the middle of Virginia. We talked and talked for hours, they signed a contract on the spot, and when I got back in the car I noticed that our consultation had lasted three and a half hours. Three and a half hours.

These two were complete strangers when we first met, but now they are so very, very close to my heart.

They are good people, kind people, funny people.

They are deeply in love in the kind of way that would make someone think that their love was still in its infancy – but they’ve been together at this point for over 10 years.

My Bobby shot this wedding with me and a lot of the photos you’ll see in this post are his (a lot). He did a really great job.

Here are some of my favorite photos from Aimee & Bobby’s wedding. I hope you love them as much as I do.

Class of 2011

I’ve been having a lot of fun working with this year’s seniors. Next up? My little sister this weekend. (Hopefully.) <3
